The Redeemed of the Lord shall return to Zion
The redeemed of the Lord shall return to Zion after Christ’s second advent, this is the promise to the faithful followers of the Lamb of God.
In the Old Testament Isaiah provides a prophetic description of Christ reigning in Zion. The redeemed are those that have received the reward of Salvation.
Isaiah 35:8-10 And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein. No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there: And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
Ransom is another word describing the purchase that Christ made on the cross to wash us from our sins. Christ offered up His life as a ransom for many (Math 20:28).
Isaiah 51:11 Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.
The Redeemed In Christ that will Inherit Zion, are those that Christ gathers at His Second Coming, these have the Law of Christ in their hearts, and this is the second gathering of Israel (Isa 51:7; Heb 10:16).
Isaiah 62:11-12 Behold, the LORD hath proclaimed unto the end of the world, Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him. And they shall call them, The holy people, The redeemed of the Lord: and thou shalt be called, Sought out, A city not forsaken.
Only those that have been washed by the blood of the Lamb can be referred to as the redeemed of the Lord; these are also the ones to receive His reward which is Salvation. Only those that call upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ shall be saved.
Matt 16:27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.
Isaiah 65:14-15 Behold, my servants shall sing for joy of heart, but ye shall cry for sorrow of heart, and shall howl for vexation of spirit. And ye shall leave your name for a curse unto my chosen: for the Lord GOD shall slay thee, and call his servants by another name:
The rebellious people that think they are holier than everyone else will be destroyed, just as their fathers before them were (Isa 65: 2-7).
The ones that are chosen are the followers of Christ, who are called the redeemed of the Lord.
Jesus has redeemed the faithful from the curse of the old law (Gal 3:13).
Those who are deceived believe they are justified by the old law, but they are in fact fallen from grace, and can never partake in the promise of eternal life only available through Christ. The promise was made to Abraham and his seed, which is Christ ( Gal 5:4; Gal 3:16).
There is a concerted effort within Judaism and Judeo-Christianity to declare that the Jews are God’s chosen people, but Christ said their house is desolate.
Many that follow Judaism claim to know the Father, but he that denies that Jesus is the Christ denies the Father and the Son.
To be fair, all who claim to be followers of Christ but do not have the Spirit of Christ, are not of Him either (Rom 8:9-11).
The Lord God put away (the ten tribes of ) Israel, and gave her a bill of divorcement. Judah feared not and played the Harlot also, and the Lord Jesus also declared their house to be desolate (Jer 3:8; Mat 23:38). The ones chosen by God are His faithful followers, and except for those who are in Christ, Israel is still is desolate.
- God brings vengeance and Salvation (Isa 35:4).
- God promise to Israel was realized in Jesus (Acts 13:23; Rom 9:8; Gal 3:14-16).
- All of the faithful under the first covenant, also partake in the eternal inheritance through Christ (Heb 9:15).
It is taught that those who bless Israel will be blessed, and those that curse Israel will be cursed.
- The truth of the matter is that this blessing was given to Abraham and all nations through Christ; the blessing was not to Israel or Judah after the flesh that rejected the Father as well as the Son. The blessing is to the Israel of God, which most assuredly is not the man made nation that exists today (Gen 12:1-2).
Gal 3:14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
It is taught that Salvation is of the Jews (John 4:22).
- The truth is that Christ is our Salvation, and it is evident that He came out of Judah. Christ declared,”before Abraham was I AM.”
Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
The Redeemed Of The Lord shall return to Zion
John 12:26 If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.
John 3:1-3 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
The followers of Christ that worship Him in Spirit and in Truth are the redeemed of the Lord, they are also called the sons of God. This name is reserved for those that have been Baptized with the Holy Spirit; this title was never given to the house of Israel, or the tribe of Judah that lived according to the flesh.
Romans 8:13-14 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
The Redeemed Of The Lord Receive The Inheritance Of Christ
Christ, in no uncertain terms exposed the religion of the false house of Judah for what it really was. Those who claimed to be of this house, including the chief priests and elders were full of hypocrisy and iniquity. The leaders and teachers of this sect did not follow the law of Moses, they were all about the traditions of men. Jesus declared that these imposters were of their father the devil, who was a murderer from the beginning (John 8:44).
Matt 21:37-41 But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son. But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance. And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him. When the lord therefore of the vineyard cometh, what will he do unto those husbandmen? They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons.
The chief priests, scribes and elders of the people who were of the synagogue of Satan, consulted and conspired to kill Jesus. They were the children of their fathers which had killed the prophets that came before Him. The same wicked spiritual force at one time had a hold of Paul, who persecuted and destroyed beyond measure the church of Christ, more so that his peers. Paul points out the fact that the religion of the Jews, had simply become a religion based upon the traditions of men (Math 26:4; Gal 1:11-14; Math 23:31).
Matt 21:43 Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.
Christ prophesized that these people and their religion of traditions would never produce any good fruit, and would be utterly destroyed; the comparison is made to the barren fig tree.
Mark 11:14 And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever.
Christ is the vine and we are the branches, without Him we can produce nothing (John 15:1-17).
Upon the return of Christ a complete and permanent destruction of these wicked defilers of everything that is good, truthful and holy will occur, and Jerusalem will be holy (Joel 3:14-17).
Matt 7:18-20 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them
